How did you start in photography? Back when the newspaper was a big thing and everyone advertised in the west Australian, I use to scroll through all the ads of wedding photographers and call every single one of them asking if I could carry their bags , come along to weddings with them . After being rejected multiple times sometimes from the same photographer eventually convincing one guy I ended up pretty much living on his couch for the next few years and would tag along to about 40-50 weddings a year until I was trusted to help cull the weddings and eventually start shooting.

What advice do you have for those starting out? Don’t stop ! and don’t listen to the people telling you to stop. If you are truly passionate and live and breathe what you do you have already made it. The next part is sharing that passion with as many people as you can.

Are personal projects a part of your journey and if so where do you find the inspiration? I always circle back to this , sometimes I can get so busy creating for clients I forget to create for myself. It’s about storytelling and everyone story is important including my own. The inspiration comes from observing life and the things we all go through.

Do you feel your photography style has changed over the span of your career? 100% what I thought was important 12 months ago , is no longer important.Do you have a dream you are yet to fulfill in your photographic journey? YES ! would love to have multiple studios , and give multiple photographers there dream job.

If you had not have chosen photography as a profession/interest, what would you be doing? Chef , love cooking. It always comes back to making people feel good . and food definitely makes people feel good.

Where do you see the future of photography heading? I honestly believe it’s becoming even more important to document and capture our life.  Everything has a camera on it these days and that’s because we are seeing and understanding the value of sharing our life experiences with generations to come.  Photography is actually slowing us down to smell the roses kind of thing .  If the house is on fire … once everyone is safe still today the first thing to grab is the photo albums . the baby photo’s.

What is your favourite food, book, and movie? Lasagne , Infinite Love is the only way (Echart Tolle ) and Shrek
