1. How did you start in photography?
My passion started in highschool with my photography teacher Mr Loxton. He opened my eyes to the beauty of the dark room and seeing through a lens. I've not looked back since.
2. What is your genre and how did you fall into that genre?
I’ve tried a little bit of everything and have worked with and for many photographers in many genres. My love is commercial work in the studio where I control the lighting and create the scene. I also love my personal projects where I get to explore the art of photography and create composites in post production.
3. If you could elect to have a drink and a conversation with anyone, currently living or not, within the photography world or not, open to anyone, who would it be and why?
Salvador Dali and my Dad. On a personal note we lost my dad a couple of years ago and I would love to see him again. On an artistic note I just love Dali's work and would love to pick his brain for an hour.
4. Are personal projects a part of your journey and if so where do you find the inspiration?
Yes they are a huge part! I have worked on personal projects since I first picked up a camera. My inspiration comes from so many places. To name a few - other photographers, dreams, idea generation, other artists and graphic designers, pretty much anywhere and everything that is visual.
5. Do you feel your photography style has changed over the span of your career?
Absolutely. I think everything evolves with time and experience, and my style, my photography and my skills have all changed. I truly hope they continue to evolve and change.
6. If you had not have chosen photography as a profession/interest, what would you be doing?
Hmmm, I think psychology. I just love how people's brain work and I've always been interested in psychology.
5. What is your favourite food, book, and movie?
Food: A custard tart. I've always been a sweet tooth.
Book: SO so so many! I love reading and I couldn't narrow it down to one book. Gosh I can't even narrow it down to one genre!
Movie: The Shawshank Redemption and Grease
