- How did you start in photography?
I took photography in year 11 and 12 and was lucky enough to do work experience and assisting with a professional photographer in Albany. I was hooked after that and went on to study photography at TAFE for 3 years gaining my Advanced Diploma.
- What is your genre and how did you fall into that genre?
Based rurally, I shoot most genre’s but the majority at the moment is portraits, weddings, commercial and landscapes.
- What advice do you have for those starting out?
Be a sponge and soak up every bit of advise you can, seek out the pro’s and pick their brains. Ask to assist and work alongside other photographers in all different genres to test your skills and build your knowledge.
- What is your most favourite piece of equipment?
Hands down my drone! It’s like being a kid again with a remote control toy.
- Do you feel your photography style has changed over the span of your career?
Yes definitely changed, studio portraits and portraits were my creative outlet earlier on. These days portraits feel more like business and I find my creative out let through my drone and landscape photography.
- What is your favourite food, book, and movie?
Surf and turf, The Resilience Project (a must read) and movie at the moment would have to be Dumplin.
