Hey all,
So, on Thursday night we held our inaugural 10 Cubed event down at the The Shoe in Yagan Square.
We had a full crowd listening to 10 amazing speakers, the likes of Natasha Du Preez, Kate Robinson, Alan Wallace, Dion Robeson, Stef king, Jenna Mason, Robert Frith, Tyler Brown, Davis Broadway and Johannes Reinhart.
It was a huge honour to host this event and huge thank you to the committee for all their help putting this event on.
The diversity we had with the speakers was, something that the majority of the attendees agreed was the highlight of the evening. The fact that we as photographers can find inspiration in all different genres and from all walks of life.
A few things I took away from the night that seemed a common recurring themes throughout the night.
Perseverance
The fact that all the speakers have not given up, have stuck it out. This I feel is one of the key components to success.
Community
Photography can be a lonely pursuit, so having a community that you can come to and feel welcomed, console with, laugh with and know you’re not alone.
Adaptability
With our industry constantly changing, be it technology or trends. We as photographer’s need stay a top of what’s happening, should we want to stay in business.
Thank you to everyone that attended, the speakers, my committee and The Shoe Bar.
Stay tuned for more great events.
Cheers Mark
