Video for Photographers

Firstly, a huge thanks to Team Digital and Nikon for hold the event.

A recap of our amazing event at Team Digital with Nikon on the 22 March 2023.

This was a free event for members and was a fantastic opportunity to learn video techniques.

The workshop involved both technical and storytelling tips. The story telling tips I feel were the most valuable of the event.

As photographers, we already have a grasp on exposure and camera settings. Having Mike clarify what works for video as opposed to photo was fundamental in demystifying video for us.

Personally, I enjoyed learning how to tell a story with motion pictures as opposed to a still frame. Something I have struggled with, when shooting video.

A question that was brought up was pricing and the fact that editing would easily take as long as the shoot itself.

Now pricing is always a touchy subject and something that you can only answer. The answer is, make sure you are aware that whatever your time limit for shooting? Your editing can easily be the same amount of time.

We have our next event on the 27th of April discussing Photography as a business.
